We’re not quite at the Animus VR stage when it comes to developing Assassin’s Creed-style tech, but thanks to this new haptic shirt, you will be able experience getting stabbed in the game… kind of.
Ubisoft is venturing into haptics through a partnership with the OWO Haptic Gaming System, and it will allow you to feel ‘sensations’ when your Assassin’s Creed: Mirage protagonist Basim gets stabbed.
The game is due out on October 12th, so if you really want to feel the consequences of your actions, this might just be the game for you.
The OWO Haptic Gaming System is a wearable shirt more commonly used in VR games to allow players’ experiences to feel more ‘real’.
Although Assassin’s Creed: Mirage isn’t a VR game, they are making this Assassin’s Creed branded shirt and the company will be implementing haptic functionality with the game on all systems.
The OWO website says the haptic feedback in the shirt will let you “feel your precise movements when you take down your targets.” So, that’s fun.
Are you tempted to try this? I’m not so sure!
