Christmas in July offers discounts of up to 25% on thousands of RPGs and accessories. I’ve received email promos from publishers with more significant discounts than that. The sale lasts about 13 more days.
- Cowboy Bebop is reduced to $16.99.
- Fabula Ultima TTJRPG is down to $10.19.
- Twilight: 2000 Urban Operations slides from nearly $20 to $16.99.
- Worlds Without Number down to $14.99.
- Ironsworn: Starforged is reduced to $15.00.
- CY_BORG Core rules have had a price drop to $21.24.
It’s not just these new headline titles, as stalwarts are selling well.
- Cyberpunk RED is reduced to $17.00.
- Old-School Essentials down to $25.50.
- Traveller Core Rulebook Update 2022 falls to $22.50.
- Vampire: The Masquerade 20th Anniversary Edition is on sale at $22.49.
Trending once again are solo RPGs, and GM aids. These are supplements helpful for when the game is on you. At the time of writing, the top two hot titles are;
- Atelier Clandestin’s Sandbox Generator.
- World Mill Games’ Mythic Game Master Emulator Second Edition.
The Christmas in July sale isn’t restricted to DriveThruRPG either, and sister sites are participating in the discounts. Also, in the mid-year shopping festival, there are;
- DriveThruCards for card games.
- DriveThruComics for PDF, Kindle and other format graphic novels and stories.
- DriveThruFiciton for multi-format stories, novels and anthologies.
Is the DMsGuild in the sale? Yes, you can get 25% off D&D community content as well.
Next year will likely be different…
This may be the last Christmas in July as we know it.
Firstly, OneBookShelf, the company that operates the site, is testing a bold new design, and you can see the preview here.
There’s even a Christmas in July preview, which feels very different. We don’t have the friendly Santa-Cthulhu-Dragon mascot, for one.
Secondly, OneBookShelf is now powered by Roll20. There’s no Roll20 Christmas in July section this year, and surely next year there will be.
However, DriveThruRPG and Roll20 are far more integrated this year than last year, and there are nearly 3,000 Roll20 titled items in the Christmas in July 2023 sale.
For example,
- Grim Press’ Allies & Antagonists – A Big Book of NPCs is reduced to $25.49, and their Unearthed Spoils Special Edition – In The Shadows to $16.99.
- MeditatingMunky’s Tome of Dungeons, the Roll20 Edition, is down to $42.49.
- Monte Cook Games’ bestseller badged The Darkest House horror module is reduced from nearly $45 to less than $34, a generous offer.
