These princesses are no damsels in distress. Outrider Creative, the publisher, calls their Perils & Princesses RPG “… an evocative gritty, pretty, magical adventure”.
The system uses three stats and a d20 roll-under system which, Outrider says, helps keep it newbie friendly while suiting veterans. The funding goal has been met a dozen times, and the campaign is on Kickstarter.

Mechanically, Perils & Princesses is a game that draws inspiration from some of the great creators in the NSR and OSR spaces. It takes its cues from games like The GLOG, The Black Hack, Mausritter, Cairn, and Into The Odd and uses this inspiration to create a gritty, pretty, and unique fairy tale adventure game.
Remember that scene in Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs when our hero runs off into the deep dark forest, narrowly avoiding the pitfalls and horrors within? Or when Dorothy Gale throws a bucket of water in the face of the Wicked Witch? This game is all about the humble moments of heart and heroism of storybook princesses.
These adventurers rely on baskets of goodies, trusty hatchets and their hidden talents to help them on their way. The gifts from their Fairy Godmothers help them call upon woodland animals, sing enchanting songs or connect with the elements of nature as they dig deep to survive the perils that await them.
Backers who pledge $10 to the Perils & Princesses RPG will get a digital game copy.
The softcover book is added to the rewards at $25, and a pack of 8 art prints, each with pre-gen character cards on the back, is added for backers at $40.
There are x2, x3 and x4 bundles of softcovers with perks at $50, $65 and $115 and a retailer pack at $150.
Ryan Lynch and the team are bullish on delivery, estimating around October 2023.
