Geek Native has a Patreon; not a penny goes to hosting or technology costs. Every cent raised is spent on commissioning humans (and the occasional dwarf) for art and articles.
Patrons get to vote in a monthly spotlight, among other perks; for August, they have voted Gamenomicon.
The private vote happens in a Patreon poll.

The indie publishing market for RPG studios is demanding but can also be gratifying. Here are a few of the challenges that indie authors face:
- High competition. Thousands of RPGs and supplements are self-published yearly, so standing out from the crowd can be challenging.
- Marketing and promotion. Indie authors are responsible for all aspects of marketing and promotion, which can be time-consuming and expensive.
- Distribution. Indie authors have to find ways to get their books into the hands of readers, which can be difficult without the backing of a traditional publisher.
- Bookkeeping and taxes. Indie authors are responsible for their bookkeeping and taxes, which can be complex and time-consuming.
Geek Native’s RPG Publisher Spotlight is designed to help a little with that. If you want to see who’s won in the past or get to previous spotlight articles, then the Spotlight page is the page to visit.
Also, if you know of a publisher to promote or a creator to celebrate, drop us an email or via one of the social channels such as Discord.
