Fiona Shades Stories has a 5e-compatible sourcebook with the Adventure College Student Handbook coming and a free to download sample.
The Framington-based publisher ran a successful Kickstarter, attracting nearly $5,000 in pledges. The project was funded in May, the early access was sent in June, and the free sample was made available in July.
In August, Fiona Shades Stories released a further public teaser with the final map of Vernadeut and a progress update on Witchtagram rules.
The 7-page sample contains;
- Arborstars – a playable species of humanoid trees with game mechanics that include the Beckon Plants cantrip, a unique naming convention, and original artwork
- Pledgie – a background for those dedicated to an organization such as a fraternity/sorority, sport, club, or secret society
- Boomerangs – a new martial weapon with two magical variants, a wondrous Boomerang of Magical Tricks, and original artwork
- The first page of the setting chapters!
The full and final Adventure College Student Handbook expands that offering to five complete playable species, adding the Nagandr, Pookahs, Hels and Reebies.
There will also be magicpunk and academic gear for Fantazon retail therapy, seven backgrounds including the Pop Culture Aficionado and illustrations throughout.
We don’t have a release date for retail purchases of the finished book, but the project looks to be promising.
