I first noticed that geeky retailer MenKind is taking pre-orders on this year’s Pokemon trading card advent calendar. Yes, it contains some booster packs and trading cards.
Then I noticed you could get the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet 151 Elite trainer box and the even more dangerous Ultra Premium Collection.
Popular Pokemon according to 75,000 fans
That’s when Guide Strats hit me up with their analysis of 75,302 profiles from the Pokemon fan site Serebii.
The result is some pretty infographics and some punchy tables.
The most popular Pokemon
The most popular Pokemon by Generation Charizard is the most popular Pokémon on the internet, with over 3,100 favourites. It beats out Pikachu, the mascot of the Pokémon franchise, which has over 1,500 favourites. Eevee, another popular Pokémon, has over 1,400 favourites.
Among fire-type starter Pokémon from the first three generations, Charizard is also the most popular, with over 3,100 favourites. Typhlosion and Blaziken follow with over 1,000 and 1,200 favourites, respectively.
Male fans prefer Charizard the most, with over 2,600 choosing it as their favourite Pokémon. Female fans prefer Eevee the most, with over 680 choosing it as their favourite Pokémon.
Charizard is the most popular Pokémon in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia. In Canada, Pikachu is the most popular Pokémon. Guide Strats also split out their data harvesting by some demographics.
