Wren Haines is on Kickstarter with a post-apocalypse tabletop RPG for one person. The solo game, Rekindle: Everwynn, differs from other end-of-the-world themed games as this one isn’t a modern setting but a fantasy one.
The game pits you against the elements of an everlasting winter and challenges you to rebuild a community. If you’re up for the challenge, or curious, you can check out the crowdfunding project.
Rekindle: Everwynn has you using skills of NPCs, tracking resources such as livestock and keeping tabs of the health of townsfolk in your little community.
Dice determine outcomes, and each character has different skills to help them keep the community alive, find survivors and build up the settlement. Escaping the winterclad mountain at the end of the game is an option, and one-shot add-ons are a stretch goal.
The mountain? That’s the titular Everwynn and it was once well-travelled and home of the trade Everywynn City. That city is now a frozen tomb.
The characters you meet are a huge part of your survival. Each has their own personality, skills, and background to help you flesh out an immersive experience. There is a total of 50 NPC characters to discover with a wide representation of racial backgrounds, ability, and gender identities.
You can back the indie TTRPG by spreading the news or offering cash. Those backers contributing $17 or more to the product will unlock the Rekindle: Everwynn PDF as a thank you.
At $35, and for backers worldwide, the hardcover edition of Rekindle: Everwynn is added in.
Those are the two tiers writer Wren Heines and artist Isabel Mathena offer, with the PDF expected around February and the hardback in June.
