The trailer just dropped for new comedy Quiz Lady, Sandra Oh, Awkwafina, Jason Schwartzman, and Will Ferrell – and it looks abso-heckin-lutely brilliant.
The film, from 20th Century Studios, centres around two sisters and their misadventures fuelled by a bid to pay off their mother’s gambling debts. They eventually set their sights on a big gameshow, where they potentially have everything to gain.
The movie has been described as a “hilarious and heartfelt comedy.”
Here’s the official description:
A brilliant but tightly wound, gameshow-obsessed young woman, Anne (Awkwafina), and her estranged, train-wreck of a sister Jenny (Oh), must work together to help cover their mother’s gambling debts. When Anne’s beloved dog is kidnapped, they set out on a wild, cross-country trek to get the cash the only way they know how: by turning Anne into a bona-fide gameshow champion.
I don’t know about you, but I’m really excited about this. Sandra Oh is one of my favourite actresses of all time, and I also know she’s picky about which projects she works on. She seems to have a great on-screen chemistry with Awkwafina and they both work the screen big time here, which is exactly what you want in a comedy.

Y’know… it might just be worth me subscribing to Hulu for this, because holy frog it looks good.
Quiz Lady is directed by Jessica Yu, and the screenplay was written by Jen D’Angelo. The cast also includes Holland Taylor, Tony Hale, and Jon “Dumbfoundead” Park.
The film is out on November 3rd (my mum’s birthday!), and only available on Hulu. Will you be watching?
