Easily one of the best series around at the moment, For All Mankind, just dropped a teaser trailer for season four – and everyone’s looking OLD. Well, okay, Old Ed in particular is looking OLD.
It’s not really a surprise, as the series is known for its time jumps.
Got to tell you, it’s not this often I’m compelled by a show that makes me this uncomfortable (I feel the same about House of the Dragon AKA Big Dragon House right now), but I just can’t look away. And this trailer already has my mind racing about ALL THE HORRIBLE THINGS THAT ARE ABOUT TO GO WRONG ON MARS!!!
If you watch the show, you know what I’m talking about. If you haven’t yet, For All Mankind is a show about what happened if the space race went a bit differently. It basically took that initial concept, and MAN did it run with it. I highly recommend the watch, but also I’m sorry in advance.
So, what’s in store for season four? According to the official synopsis:
Rocketing into the new millennium in the eight years since Season 3, Happy Valley has rapidly expanded its footprint on Mars by turning former foes into partners. Now 2003, the focus of the space program has turned to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they are working towards.
So, people getting in the way of progress again. What a surprise; people are the worst. Check out the trailer below, it’s a nice, smoothly done Helios recruitment ad:
Yeah, what could possibly go wrong here? (Spoiler alert: probably everything)
I’m wondering where Margot’s ended up after all of this. Eight years is a long time, especially in For All Mankind world, for all we know she could be on China’s side right now. Pulling up her morning pair of tights in a meditation dojo off the east coast.
Just playin’, I have my bets elsewhere. And we’ll hopefully find out on November 10th when the first episode is released on AppleTV+.
