A second pirate-themed post in one day? Yes!
Not only is it International Talk Like a Pirate Day, but Free League’s Pirate Borg is hot off the press, and the reviews are coming in.
Limithron has gone one further and has launched Pirate Borg 5e Bestiary Zine. A key feature is the creature stat conversions of all the monsters in Pirate Blog to the 5e system used by D&D.
The zine does not, however, have any of the ship stats of rules for 5e naval combat, but there is a separate Limithron’s Guide to Naval Combat for 5E.
The Pirate Borg 5e Bestiary Zine has art from Pirate Borg, though I’ll admit I’m unsure whether Free League will be pleased with that. There is an SRD to govern the use of Mork Borg content, but I’ve clearly not studied it well enough.
Mork Borg, the parent game, is an art-heavy, death metal-inspired fantasy set in a doomed world. It’s straightforward, brutal, weird at times and bleak at others. Pirate Borg adds some scurvy, keeps the art intensity high and swirls with history, horror and rum. The creators are different.
The zine isn’t Limithron’s only Pirate Borg product, as the publisher also has Buried in the Bahamas, Pirate Borg Monster, Ship, Relics, and Rituals Printed Playing Cards and The Battle of Dead Man’s Cove.
