The Feud must go in Jonathan Denham’s 60-page zine RPG set in a low fantasy dark age that’s very different to typical worlds.
Success in this game isn’t measured by gold or experience points but by your impact on others. It’s an indie project with a £850 goal and two weeks to get there on Kickstarter.
The art looks great in Feud and is original, with 12 hand-cut lino prints used in it and available as rewards.
With accessibility part of the design ethos, there is a free < ahref=”https://thewyrd.itch.io/feud”>audio and digital version available.
In the game, the characters must try and survive a growing blood feud.
In Feud, there are no kings or travelling merchants, and there are not even adventurers who can help, but there are gods and monsters and inter-clan politics.
The strength of the people comes from the people, and the game brings four communities of them, six main characters with eight supporting ones.
The monsters of this land offer danger, challenge and opportunity. There are the nightmarish foe-spirits haunting the woods; The Alone, people of pure darkness, possess the knowledge of the dying mother-goddess; and Feorhnu’s Blood, by day a woman, by night a creature of twig, can be controlled for great power, but unleashes terrible violence if harmed.
Backers offering £6 or more get a PDF copy of this version of Feud.
Then, at £15, there’s a printed copy added to the rewards pile, and the add-on options open.
There’s one more tier after that: £90 gets you a copy of every original and limited edition print used in the Feud RPG, three of which are large, plus the two game editions.
All the tiers, if the Kickstarter goes to plan, are due before the end of the year.
