Publishing giant Hatchette is launching a new D&D series in the UK. It’s called “Dungeons & Dragons: Adventurer” and offers a more expensive premium tier for those joining early enough.
Hatchette Partworks is behind the D&D offer to explain the rules, deliver an exclusive adventure and learn how to play. There are dice, minis, booklets, maps and tokens all part of the package.
The publisher’s YouTube video is also called “TV advert”, so perhaps it’s running on screens across the UK!
You do not need to subscribe to the series to get the guides; it was at Forbidden Planet that Geek Native first noticed the series. On Titan’s retail arm, D&D Adventurer #1 is available now. You can buy issue #2 and delivery at the end of September and issue #3 in October. It’s clearly been out for a while, but it’s just landing on the radar now.
Alternatively, you can subscribe via Hatchette and get one issue free. That first issue is free, along with a dice tray, and when delivery 3 is due, you’ll get a D&D binder as well. Issue #5 unlocks a DM screen, and delivery #7 a dice jail (without dice).
Have you missed it? No, you’ve until December to get on board, but you must start before issue #4.
The premium tier adds £1.50 to the cost of each issue, and five silver joins with D&D character art and a custom-made display frame to the offer. However, you must stay with the series until issue 71 to get the last coin.
Hatchette has no plans to release any of the content available digitally nor are there plans to run the series outside the UK or the Republic of Ireland.
