Coxon Media have launched Morticians RPG Crossroads: The Introductory Undertaking, a tough zombie survival RPG.
The family-owned published offers belly-laughs and zombie-dispatching with the PCs in the role of Morticians. Morticians are members of a pseudo-militaristic group operating years after the outbreak to help humanity reclaim hope. You can see progress on the pitch page.
As Morticians, the Player Characters explore, guard, and fight through Sanctuary Valley. They’ll encounter nomadic scavengers, bikers and zombies and few of these groups will be friendly.
Coxon’s game engine is percentile-based and keeps the game moving quickly. We’re told the game is all-age appropriate, and you can play for laughs – or gore.
The box set is 100% human-created.
In the year 2012, a plague struck the world. It has been seven years since the great infection. In as little as two months, the plague from a bacteria people called “Bac-Z” went from being discovered to devastating. It was estimated, by those who did such counting before the world went dark, that Bac-Z would claim 90% of the global population. But no one knows for sure. Governments crashed, and cities imploded. For a short time, chaos reigned, and violence governed.
You can support Steve and Mary, co-owners of Coxon Media, by spreading the news or backing with money.
Morticians who support with $19 or more will get an early access PDF edition of the game; that’s the Funeral Director Guidebook, the Player Starter Rulebook and character folios.
There’s the complete box set at $45, but it is restricted to backers in the United States of America. Then, at $59, the reward tier offers both the print and digital versions.
There’s a collector’s edition, also restricted to the USA, at $149 and that tier is picking up backers.
Coxon estimates the PDF will be available by January 2024 and the box set by March.
