Paizo Publishing has appointed 13 people as points of contact for coordinating Pathfinder Society events. These regional coordinators will be known as Venture-Captains and have the task of overseeing specific locations, local organisers and helping out with the Pathfinder Society. The Pathfinder Society is the organised play arm for the Pathfinder RPG.
Hyrum Savage, Marketing and Organised Play Manager for Pazio Publishing, said;
“Venture-Captains are a vital component in our Organized Play structure. With this new structure it will be easier than ever for players to find local games and get playing right away. We’ve named 13 individuals now, but have plans for many more in the coming months.”
In some cases the “local organiser” is also the national organiser. There is only one person for the United Kingdom, for example, and let’s hope the Venture-Captain for Australia doesn’t have to deal with “local” groups in the North East and then South East on the same weekend!

It looks like quite a few of the Venture-Captains created email accounts just for this role. Very wise! I hope all of them did.
