The latest D&D book, a novel from Random House Worlds, The Fallbacks: Bound for Ruin, is now on pre-order at Amazon.
The D&D novel by Jaleigh Johnson appears in the bookseller at a time when Wizards of the Coast is manoeuvring with its distributors, and Penguin Random House is taking a much-reduced role. While the book can be pre-ordered now, it’s not due until March next year.
Bound for Ruin introduces a team of five inexperienced adventurers: a rogue, fighter, wizard, cleric, and bard, accompanied by their pet otyugh, Uggie.
Set in the Forgotten Realms setting, the book tells how this party is hired to recover a spellbook from a lost temple, only to find their patron murdered and themselves accused of the crime. Discovering that the book has a mind of its own, they are forced to flee and try to clear their name.
Bound for Ruin is the first book in a planned series featuring the Fallbacks party. Johnson is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Mark of the Dragonfly and other fiction for Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms and Marvel.
