We’re delighted to share the trailer for an interactive experience from the Silent Hill franchise entitled Silent Hill: Ascension, which is due for a Halloween release.
The experience has been developed by Genvid Entertainment and Konami Digital Entertainment, will be getting an episodic release, and is sure to be something to look forward to for Silent Hill fans.
Being a fan of virtual and augmented reality, I’m personally quite excited about interactive experiences becoming more of a thing, and this is definitely something I’ll want to check out.
So, what we can expect from Silent Hill: Ascension? Well, the experience will “follow the complex lives of two families in peril, linked by unnerving visions and terrifying monstrosities that hound them to the brink of damnation.”
Nice. It doesn’t seem to be another very dark tale (well, what do you expect) and in the trailer we’re introduced to the character of Astrid Johansen who is accused of killing her son.
My first thoughts? It seems very Silent Hill to me – which is probably what they were going for.
Genvid CEO Jacob Navok recently talked about the series, and perhaps surprisingly, even he doesn’t know how it will end. Here’s what he said:
There has never been an experience like Silent Hill: Ascension before,” said Navok. “It’s not a game but an interactive streaming series that will change as the audience makes decisions together. While I’m Executive Producing the title, I don’t know how it will end. That is in your hands. And the content you make will be streamed worldwide on televisions and phones, through our relationships with Sony Pictures, Google, Apple, and others. Participating in Silent Hill: Ascension each day means you’ll be part of history that will never come again.
Silent Hill: Ascension – the first episode – will be available October, 31st at 6pm PT. So, how can you enjoy it? You’ll have to download the Silent Hill: Ascension app (through the App Store or Google Play).
