What better way to celebrate Halloween than watching some special behind-the-scenes footage of some of our most loved classic horror movies? This one of Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper‘s Poltergeist is a belter.
The documentary was filmed in 1982 by Frank Marshall, the film’s producer, and shows some insight into what it was like for the production crew and actors involved. It’s particularly fun watching how some of the practical special effects were achieved back then – my favourite part is watching the house get tipped!
People often say that Spielberg was the real director of Poltergeist, and at least as far as this video’s concerned, it looks to be the case – with more footage of Spielberg doing the director’s job than Hooper. The interviews with the cast are also quite neat.
