Festive one-shot ideas
I’m no RPG creator, but to get into the festive spirit, I’ve whisked up some one-shot ideas. See how much better all our December candidates are than I am!
The Winter Witch’s Christmas Castle
The party is tasked with delivering a gift to the Winter Witch’s Christmas Castle, but they must first find a way through the treacherous winter wonderland surrounding it. Along the way, they will encounter snow sprites, talking reindeer, and other festive creatures. Once they reach the castle, they must solve a series of puzzles and challenges to reach the Winter Witch and deliver her gift.
The Krampus Hunt
Krampus, a fearsome creature who punishes naughty children, has escaped the North Pole and terrorised the countryside. The party is tasked with tracking down Krampus and stopping him before he can harm any more children. Their journey will take them through dark forests, abandoned villages, and even the depths of hell itself.
The Santa Claus Heist
A group of thieves has stolen Santa Claus’s sack of presents, and the party is tasked with retrieving it before Christmas morning. The thieves have hidden the sack in a secret dungeon beneath the North Pole, and the party will need to use all of their skills and abilities to get it back. Along the way, they will battle elves, snowmen, and other Christmas-themed creatures.
The Gingerbread House Trap
The party is invited to a gingerbread house decorating contest, but the contest is a trap set by a group of evil elves. The elves have enchanted the gingerbread house so that anyone who enters becomes trapped inside. The party must find a way to break the enchantment and escape the house before they become gingerbread decorations themselves.
The Feast of the Yuletide Dragon
The Yuletide Dragon is a mighty dragon that awakens from its slumber every winter solstice to feast on the nearby villages. The party is tasked with slaying the dragon before it can destroy the towns and ruin the winter holidays. Their journey will take them to the dragon’s lair, a frozen mountain cave filled with traps and treasure.
