If you’re a fan of One Piece, and you’re a fan of Disco Elysium, this may be the crossover post you never knew was 100% absolutely necessary.
I’m a member of Disco Elysium Cunoposting on Facebook – which keeps me amused and keeps the charm of the game alive – and was browsing my newsfeed when a disturbing depiction of Monkey D. Luffy painted in the Disco Elysium art style popped up.
It’s painted by Kamil Łukaszewski (also known as Tauriie). This was something to make me stop, think about and admire… but then the comments section had me in stitches.
Luke Rey commented:
The strange man is murmuring about being the emperor of the privateers. he looks at you with unhinged eyes reaching out at you while muttering under his breath ‘rubber rubber’.”
Drama: “sire you could join his crew, and one day be his right hand.”
Spirit de corps: “there is a social work division for this, you should call it in, they can help him”
Visual calculous: “there is something strange about the way this man’s skin reflects light, there is less subsurface scattering, less texture, as if he is made of rubber.”
That one really tickled me. Here are some others that had me laughing out loud.
He looks like he put all skill points in elektrochemistry
Sara Dufke
It really does, Sara!
Fucking low haki!? You think Luffy doesn’t know what you’re talkin’ bout? Haki was FUCKING MAX!”
Bartek Włodarczyk
HYPERMOBILE LIBERTARIAN: “I’M GONNA BE KING OF THE PIRATES!”
LOGIC: Is he insane?
RHETORIC [Legendary: Success]: No. What you’re looking at is the purest form you’ve witnessed of the Mazovian Dialogic. Anything he does moves with a freedom the present moment fails to catch up to. He is untouchable. You feel as if the historical rust of the world would shatter away at his touch. He is the future, forever — and he doesn’t even know it.
James Sejong
And, finally:
Fuck does Luffy care!?
Rigel Freeman
I know this crossover is maybe a little niche, but I had such a giggle at this, and I hope you did, too.
