You died, or at least were executed, but are now roaming the tunnels of the City Below.
Blackoath Games has hundreds of backers for their dark fantasy solo or co-op RPG Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne. The Kickstarter has been funded, and you can see how high the tally goes on the project page.
There’s a single PC in the Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne. The system uses a D100, and checks must roll equal to or lower than the character’s skills.
Curious? There’s a 28-page free to download quickstart PDF to check.
The game has a random dungeon generator for replayability. Character builds allow heavy armour-wearing mages or berserking stealthiers thanks to over 100 abilities and 20 Masteries.
There are survival mechanics designed to make the dungeon a hard but strategic place to survive and, to accompany that, 40 monsters.
Welcome to Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne, a single player dungeon crawler set in an endless necropolis. With the tools presented in the book you’ll tell the story of your character who, after miraculously surviving an execution, wakes up to realize that their problems have just begun, and that there are fates worse than death.
Backers at the €15 tier get the PDF of the TTRPG, and nicely, with no extra cost, there’s also the at-cost print-on-demand softcover and hardcover.
If the print-on-demand coupons come as a basic reward, then what is left? At €50, backers get all of the above and the ability to design a relic in the game. At €80, the relic becomes an Overseer.
There’s a “Black Edition” for backers who pledge €100 or more, and that’s the top tier.
The Kickstarter closes on December 14th, and the estimated delivery is very soon, January 2024.
