Director Tim Burton has now wrapped production on Beetlejuice 2 for Warner Bros. although he’s not really giving much away – maybe a picture tells a thousands words?
Burton shared the above photo of himself on set via his Instagram account, along with the simple words: “Just finished shooting Beetlejuice. Thank you to everyone involved.” Hmmm.
The photo itself appears to be the waiting room of The Neitherworld; a familiar location for fans of the first movie.
Burton’s update was no doubt a relief for those following the film’s progress, considering it only had two days of scheduled production left when the Hollywood strikes came down on it like a massive cake hammer (that’s just a phrase I like to use from time to time).
Beetlejuice 2 will see Michael Keaton back as the ghost with the most, alongside co-star Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz. The movie also brings in Jenna Ortega as Lydia’s daughter, Astrid – and Monica Bellucci will play Beetlejuice’s wife. I’m also excited about Willem Dafoe being in the movie as a law enforcement officer within the Neitherworld!
Previously, Keaton had been quoting saying:
Beetlejuice is the most f*ckin’ fun you can have working, It’s so fun, it’s so great. And you know what it is? We’re doing it exactly like we did the first movie … There’s a woman in the great waiting room for the afterlife literally with a fishing line – I want people to know this because I love it – tugging on the tail of a cat to make it move.
If that’s not enough for you, here’s a little more insight from the film’s cinematographer, Haris Zambarloukos:
At its heart Beetlejuice [2] is a story about a family, and now it’s 30 years later and what are the intricacies and the human condition in keeping a family together all that time set in the craziest world possible? That’s why I choose projects. That human connection for me is always at the forefront.
Beetlejuice 2 will be out in cinemas on September 6, 2024.

What do you think of the latest Beetlejuice 2 news? I’m quite excited that it’s less than a year to go, because although I’m sick of sequels and prequels and reboots most of the time, I still love me some Beetlejuice. Let me know what you’re thinking in the comments!
