The first trailer for House of the Dragon (AKA Big Dragon House) has just dropped, along with some promo posters, and things are most definitely hotting up in the show… and we’re getting anxiety butterflies of excitement!
The posters show Emma D’Arcy as her character Rhaenyra Targaryen, shedding a tear, whilst Lady Alicent Hightower, played by Olivia Cooke, looks just as perturbed as I am by the whole thing.
The trailer centres on the looming and utterly devastating war between both characters, and the trailer contains a very appropriate quote: “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin.”
Check out the trailer below:
See what I mean? The posters are pretty rad, though.
How awesome are these? I can’t tell you how much I’m excited for more Big Dragon House…
Scratch that, the show may be coming in the summer, but I’m already terrified – mostly for the dragons. I know, I know… it ain’t gonna end well, Bronwen. Why do you put yourself through it? I just do, okay?
Director Clare Kilner previously spoke about what to expect from season two, and said at the time:
There are eight wonderful episodes with so much happening in every episode. We have trouble, at times, bringing them down to one hour. (Showrunner) Ryan Condal’s decision was to give it a good opening and a good ending, and they’re jam-packed with emotional and visually exciting events.
Season 2 of House of the Dragon will make its premiere on HBO next summer.
