Chamomile Has A Project has a superb track record at delivering Kickstarters, which might be why the sprint for a quick Christmas game was funded so quickly. The Kickstarter pitch doesn’t say much about The North Pole Under Siege!
We don’t know how to play or how many players can, but we do know Santa is under siege and needs Christmas cheer for the resource management of his snowy empire. You can find out more on the pitch page.
The campaign only asked for $250, which has been met, but it didn’t load the full month onto the Kickstarter clock, and there’s just over a week left.
The game has you explore hexes while the Snow Witch moves north from the south, and the Sun King does the same to melt the North Pole. Meanwhile, Krampus’ armies fight against the Nutcracker in another war over Christmas.
Santa needs Treats, Toys and Flying Reindeer to weather the storm, which means getting the infrastructure in place for the elves who need Christmas cheer to supply it. Hexes in the world map provide the cheer, but that’s only possible once they’re secured.
The assault has come at a terrible time. Santa’s reserves of Christmas cheer are nearly expended, and a good deal of what he was relying on to bring Christmas to the world this year have been captured by various foes. In order to save Christmas, you will have to find sources of Christmas cheer. Once you have discovered a source of Christmas cheer and completed the relevant encounter, it continues to produce one bottle of cheer per day so long as Santa’s forces hold it.
There are three tiers, and the first is only $1. Backers at that level get the PDF of The North Pole Under Siege!
At $2, there’s also a bonus PDF of the Oath of the North Pole and Other Holiday Subclasses.
Then, for backers who pledge $10 or more, there’s The North Pole Under Siege! PDF and a special thanks.
