Using the math-free Polymorph rules engine, a system in which players only use one die, the official Return to Dark Tower is out and available from DriveThruRPG.
In the licensed roleplaying game, from 9th Level Games, one player takes on the role of the ‘Adversary’ and GM/DM/Maze Controller. The other players create a ‘Hero’ and ‘Companion’, each from one of the Four Kingdoms.
The player characters might have to raise armies, explore dungeons or assassinate villains in a race against the clock. Everything costs time in Return to Dark Tower, and the Final Battle comes whether the would-be heroes are ready or not.
Return to Dark Tower Fantasy Roleplaying is an officially licensed, complete fantasy RPG based on the hit board game RETURN TO DARK TOWER by Restoration Games, and inspired by the original Dark Tower board game from the 1980s.
Powered by polymorph™️ and compatible with 9th Level Games’ award-winning MAZES Fantasy Roleplaying, the Return to Dark Tower RPG brings dark, pulp-inspired storytelling and fast action to the table with modern roleplaying rules built on very deep roots.
In this video for the Return to Dark Tower Kickstarter, game designer Chris O’Neill describes the RPG further.
The TTRPG has over 200 pages of colour content, a guide to the game’s campaign-style, and all the rules you need. If you also have the Return to Dark Tower board game, there are further optional rules on using components from that game here.
The download is fresh on DriveThruRPG, and the physical book, complete with a gold-stamped hardcover, is available at some retailers.
