The GM prompt and writing tool dscryb teamed up with Michael Ghelfi Studios about a year ago for the Sonic Library.
It turns out that was just the launch project, and work on Opus began almost immediately.
Opus, open for beta now, lets GMs layer on music and sound effects to bring RPGs to life. The new project offers improved VoIP, music, SFX playlists, and player-fired SFX.
Player-fired sound effects mean that non-GMs can initiate actions. The example given is a wizard being able to tap the fireball sound whenever they cast the spell.
dScryb say;
We want everyone who’d like to participate in the beta to be able to, so we’re currently offering a free 14-day trial on all subscriptions. (We recommend trialing the Celestial subscription, as this unlocks all content within Opus.) This offer is available to everyone, including current Composer, Hero, and Player subscribers.
For the techies, Opus uses Google’s Angular and a network of servers so that players hear the same quality audio even if the game is being played over a VTT.
