Zack Synder and Netflix filmed Rebel Moon part 1 “A Child of Fire” and part 2 “The Scargiver” back to back. You know, no matter how mixed reception for the first has been, that part two is coming.
The trailer came out on Christmas Day.
The answer to “Is there a Rebel Moon sequel?” is, therefore, “Yes”. It’s due out in April 2024.
Netflix’s blurb-pitch is;
REBEL MOON – PART TWO: THE SCARGIVER continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made.
From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, REBEL MOON is a 2-part movie event decades in the making.
What did you make of Rebel Moon? It just sort of happened to me. I sat down to risk giving it a go and was rarely engaged, but then it was over. Like candy floss?
Why did they rescue the genius general Titus and then never use his genius again, walking into all the traps?
All the filming happened as if it was one movie, starting in mid-April in 2022 and lasting until mid-November. Perhaps, then, part 1 is merely setting up part 2?
What gets me most about the trailer is that the actors’ names are not on the posters, just the director’s. Is that a thing now?
