Newly launched Typhon Games has released free to download alpha playtest rules for When We Die.
Beyond the gnawing dead, When We Die pits survivors against a dying world. Can they heal the poisoned earth before the food web fails?
The alternative spin in this tabletop RPG is that the failing ecosystem is ongoing. As well as the zombie threat, those few humans must battle against the crimes of previous generations of ecological neglect.
When We Die’s tactical narrative puts your fate on the line. Do you burn your resources for victory now, knowing they might be the fuel you need to stay alive later?
The RPG will use the Typhon Game System, which is a pool of dice built from characters’ abilities. Rolls try to get as many 6s as possible, and Resilience can be spent to count 4s and 5s if the dice come out short.
However, it is essential to note that the rules and world lore can change due to the alpha test.
