We’ve got some exciting new posters and details on Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire today, and not only will the film be more connected to the original movies in terms of plot, it’ll also feature more of the original cast – plus it seems Janine (Annie Pott) is back, and all suited up!
Yessssssss, Janine. You’re my favourite and by far the most exciting thing I’ve seen about this movie so far! We’ll also be seeing Bill Murray’s Peter Venkman, Dan Aykroyd’s Ray Stantz, and Ernie Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore kickin’ some ghost butt in this film.
A recent interview with Empire has revealed new plot details for some of the characters. Winston, for example, is the character responsible for reopening the New York firehouse! According to Hudson:
Winston’s a wealthy guy now, and he’s funding research into new technology and the science behind ghostbusting. When the world is threatened… Who you gonna call? He suits up with the rest of them.
And regarding Ray Stantz (played by Akroyd), he’s taken a different path in life and is trying to come to terms with some of the changes from Winston. The actor said:
Ray’s been retired! He’s got fitness problems, insurance problems – Winston’s the shot-caller now and he decides Ray should step back from the ghostbusting frontline and just be an advisor. Ray does not like this. Gozer’s gone, but there’s an equally terrible threat emerging from Queens – by way of the Indus Valley – and Ray wants to be out there, driving the Cadillac.
Anyway, take a lookit these awesome posters!
Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:
