Mausritter is an indie fantasy RPG where characters are mice with swords in a dangerous world. There’s character and flavour, but it’s dangerous and tough.
There’s also a third-party community, and dozens of them have come together to use Kickstarter to switch more than 30 dungeons together into one giant megadungeon an offer thousands of hours of content through a Tomb of a Thousand Doors. The campaign funded in hours, and you can see progress on the pitch page.
Don’t want to wait? You can name your own price for the digital content via Itch. That is, the mega dungeon in its current form as there’s a new edition on the way with the success of this crowdfunder.
Isaac Williams, the ENnie gold-winning creator of Maustritter, supports the project, saying,
The Tomb of a Thousand Doors is a sprawling testament to the vibrancy, creativity, and enthusiasm of Maustritter’s community, and one I’m honoured to be part of.
The point of the Kickstarter is really to join all the community-created dungeons together professionally. That said, The Tomb of a Thousand Doors will offer in its vast completeness;
- More than 30 dungeons with more than 250 rooms
- More than 100 subterranean and pocket dimension hexes
- Four rival exploring parties of adventurers
- Five detailed factions
- More than 25 new creatures and 8 ‘boss level’
- There’s random treasures and 50+ named magical items
Backers can support at any level by spreading the word but those who offer $5 or more in support will help the community get a PDF copy of the dungeon.
At $20, backers get the digital dungeon in the final post-Kickstarter form. It’ll hit retail later and at $25.
That impressive physical copy will be an A4 landscape, hardcover, Smyth sewn, and with a ribbon bookmark. Backers worldwide can secure a copy as a thank-you gift at the $45 tier.
At $60, an upgraded thank-you tier includes a GM screen with tables and art.
The finalised digital dungeon is slated for June, while the book is scheduled for early 2025. The campaign runs until the 3rd of February.
