In some fantastic news for hump day, Godzilla-1.0/C (Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color) has been confirmed for a US theatrical week-long release! Could this mean we might see the same in the UK? I really bloody hope so!
The film’s release was initially only announced for Japan, so fans will no doubt be delighted by the fact that Toho International is taking ‘Zilla Stateside! But c’mon, Toho, we’re waiting for UK news now!
The black and white remaster of Godzilla Minus One is set to hit theatres in the US on Friday, January 26th will run until February 1st, following on from its release in Japan on January 12th.
Director Takashi Yamazaki has said of the release:
I was very happy that the North American audience embraced Godzilla Minus One, and now I am very pleased to be able to release a black-and-white version for North America as well. Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color will bring a new and visceral experience to audiences.
I for one really, REALLY hope I get to see this in a cinema, because holy shit it looks phenomenal.
