Essence of Eternity is a card game on Kickstarter this month from Geektopia Games. It plays in under an hour and has two to six players battling monsters, perhaps helping each other, in the quest for eternal life.
The Chicago-based group are running the campaign until February 7th and is just a few hundred bucks short of their $4,000 goal on Kickstarter.
The game includes different avatar cards with different characters to play, giving the battle replayability and challenges. There are also Unicorn Blood Cards; surely everyone needs a pack of those!
The full box has 72 essence cards in four colours, 56 monster cards, carta essential, double-sided spell cards and 36 Fate deck cards.
Geektopia rates the battle as suitable for 14 and up and can be done in 20 minutes by two players who know the rules.
Get your rune recipe, choose your avatar, and race to find the Essence of Eternity, the secret to eternal life. Journey through the forest wilderness and delve into the mines before risking the perils of the underworld realm. Battle fearsome monsters and cast powerful spells. But beware! Your opponents have powers and control monsters of their own. Are you cunning enough to outwit them? Immortality is within your grasp, but at what cost?
There are early bird tiers available, and if you’re lightning quick and in the correct country, then today, the box could be yours as a reward for $15.
Missed that chance? Backers pledging $18 in support, which isn’t much more, but who must still be in the same set of countries will get a thank-you copy of the box.
After that, still with early bird discounts, backers can offer more money and grow the number of boxes they get. The idea is that you can coordinate with friends and reduce shipping costs. The retailer tier offers six copies, but Geektopia haven’t restricted that to bricks and mortar stores, anyone can pledge at that level.
Essence of Eternity is expected to ship by the end of the year.
