You read that right; there’s a new Jurassic World movie in development from Universal Pictures and Jurassic Park screenwriter David Koepp has been hired to write it – not only that, it’s apparently a “complete reboot” of the series and on fast track to production. Wut.
According to Deadline the new movie will be “a completely fresh take on a Jurassic era with Jurassic World“. Previous stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill probably won’t be in the picture.
We’ve got a fair few other details on this thing, too – such as the fact it’ll be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, and on production there will be Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley.
Clearly, the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises have been a bit of a cash cow, but to start completely over again from scratch? It seems… unnecessary. And it’s got me wondering how they could do things that make it refreshingly different and something people want to see.
I mean… can’t we start something new? Fresh? Original?
Welp. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out!
