More and more keeps surfacing about Godzilla Minus One – including the fact it was made on just a $10 million budget, and now according to THR, we’ve learned the film’s VFX team consisted of only 35 artists. That’s pretty impressive!
The artists in question worked on all 610 VFX shots in the movie, with director Takashi Yamazaki, overseeing the entire VFX production process.
Watching the movie, you get the feeling where some of the movement in the shots fit the physics of scale models compared to the CGI scenes, but none of that detracts from the film, and I felt it even gave it extra charm.
In fact, critics seem to agree, as Godzilla Minus One was actually nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects!
