GooeyCube has just opened pre-launch registration for The Tomb of Gyzaengaxx, so I thought I’d look back at their Shadows in Genzacon.
🎲 Sponsored Post part of a GooeyCube promotion.
Why? It speaks to the quality we’re going to get. Geek Native’s also happily agreed to feature this grimdark homage adventure to Gary Gygax. I mean, the money is nice, but this project also involves Luke Gygax and the charismatic Alphinius Goo and team, so who are we to say no to such a partnership? You might have noticed that the daily digest email had a gooey makeover. And this is why.
As Shadows in Genzacon is a murder mystery, I have to be a bit tactful in what I show. I want to avoid spoilers. Oh sure, I can fuzz and blur images, but that just makes for some weird visual effects.
Shadows in Genzacon was released for GenCon 22, winning an award, and is Gooey Cube’s first standalone set in Zyathe. I’ve got a PDF copy, and straight away, I was impressed that it unpacks into several different files rather than one hard-to-manage monolith of a file.
There’s a standalone map which really brings the city to life, but also copies of clues, NPCs, cheat sheets and the like.
The crowdfunder for The Tomb of Gyzaengaxx opens later this month, but sign up now so you don’t miss out.
