A rare chance to own a piece of Superman history, in the form of 18 original storyboards from the 1978 Superman film (starring Christopher Reeve), created by legendary artist Ivor Beddoes.
The storyboard collection will be on display at the California International Antiquarian Book Fair which takes place from 9th – 11th February at Pier 27 in San Francisco. These pieces come straight from the private collection of author George Locke, and mainly consist of the film’s opening scenes on Krypton.
They give some rare insight into the film’s production, and are expected to sell for £25,000 (about $31,600) to one lucky buyer.
You can check some of them out below:
Just looking at these is making me want to rewatch the movie, which holds a bit of sentimental value to me as I remember watching it as a very young child, and my dad lifting me up above him and singing the soundtrack.
Accompanying the Superman storyboards, the display will also feature rare editions of The Lord of the Rings, The Little Prince, and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and it all sounds rather fabulous if you’re able to make it to the event.
