If you’re thinking about sharpening up your drawing skills this year and have fun whilst doing it – or just because drawing’s fun anyway – I highly recommend the newly released Drawing Prompts for Extremely Weird People by Troy Devolld.
I actually know Troy from my LA days, but as a reality TV producer – so, when he announced he was releasing this book, it was a pleasant surprise and I immediately pounced on it. In fact, my copy from Amazon arrived here in the UK before his did!
Here’s the official blurb for this delight of a book:
Troy DeVolld, author of the surreally entertaining One Hundred Poems About Los Angeles poetry series and All Concept, No Execution, provides one hundred unhinged drawing prompts like you’ve never seen! “Death resetting his ringtone”,”Face you can’t recall haunting the garage” and other challenges beg you to unleash your illustrative inner weirdo in this satirical spoof of drawing prompt books that’s sure to grease your weird little creative gears.
I’ve not actually drawn anything yet, but the prompts look incredibly fun and I’m already highly amused looking through them all – and for only £10.26, it’s a bargain!
You also don’t necessarily have to draw in the book itself – it’s just an option.
I hope you’ll have fun with this book – I know I will! You can get your copy via Amazon right here.
Do you like to draw, but lack inspiration? What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever drawn? As an artist myself, I’d love to hear about it!
