YouTuber Blaine Simple has come to Kickstarter to crowdfund a system-neutral RPG about dating monster girls.
The ask is a challenging $20,000 and that’s easily been met with Kickstarter showing near-enough four weeks on the clock and over $40,000 pledged. You can see the latest tally on the pitch page.
The Kickstarter sets out a game about building relationships and long-lasting bonds, albeit with creatures of many species. Sorry, of every species.
The world is presented through the writings of Silver, Gwen and Desmond in reviews of their encounters and relationships with monsters.
Blaine suggests the book can be used as a creative supplement by authors looking to “humanise” monsters, RPGers looking for playable monster characters and even for bards researching romance and seduction.
There are locations, aka date spots, in the book as well.
If all this sounds hard to fathom, there’s a free download of 9-pages to check out.
Some monster may gift a hero they fancy with magical trinkets and gear. These items uniquely originate from each species and can range from innocent toys to deadly weapons. Descriptions of gifts are open ended to blend perfectly with the balancing of any TTRPG system!
Backers can support this indie RPG by spreading news about it and pledging money. Those who commit $25 or more, as well as those over 150, will get the PDF of the game as a thank you.
The physical Silver’s Monster Girl Manual unlocks at $50, added by Blaine to the rewards.
$100-tier backers get metal kanji dice in a leather bag, enamel pins, and the PDF and hardback editions of Silver’s Monster Girl Manual.
There’s a higher tier, one at $275, with dozens of backers that add in a carved wooden lute case and a 1/7th scale model of Silver.
The PDFs of Silver’s Monster Girl Manual is due in February, the others in April and Blaine Simple will keep the Kickstarter running until March 16th.
