“She was a good witch, she was a bad witch, but all I really wanted was a mothertruckin’ sandwich…”
If you like sandwiches and you like D&D and other TTRPGs, you’ll definitely be enthused by Roll For Sandwich, which combines the two into a series of fun videos by Jacob Pauwels – and as a regular watcher I was utterly delighted to see GooeyCube and Luke Gygax getting involved!
In the videos, Jacob makes several rolls to see what type of sandwich he’s going to end up with, from the bread, right down to the protein, cheese, roughage, sauce and ‘wild magic’! Sometimes it goes well, and other times… well. It can get a little bit ‘dicey’ shall we say?!
Anyway, GooeyCube decided to get in on some of the Roll for Sandwich action in this fun collaboration, and sent Jacob some dice and one of their previous projects, The Darkest Dreams – but the sandwich rolls are what we’re really here for!
NOTE: We’ve also got our own collab with GooeyCube at the moment, who are promoting The Tomb of Gyzaengaxx, a grimdark homage adventure to the late Gary Gygax, co-founder of Dungeons & Dragons. The Kickstarter is live right now, so go check it out!
On this particular roll, Jacob wound up with a sandwich that included turkey, fontina and watermelon, along with tomato, kewpie mayo and a lovely beef au jus! You can check out how that went down below:
What I really loved about this collaboration is that Luke Gygax actually wanted to make the sandwich for himself and try it out on camera, so we got a bonus video of him doing just that!
Luke is such a good sport, and I’m glad he didn’t get anything too bad from Jacob’s sandwich rolls on this Friday’s edition. You can see how he handles it below:
Once again, we didn’t know this Roll for Sandwich collab was happening over here at Geek Native, but we’re delighted it did – and I’m always sharing Jacob’s videos with people anyway.
And again, if you’re interested in learning more about The Tomb of Gyzaengaxx, head over to Kickstarter right now and see what’s on offer there.
What do you think of Jacob’s latest sandwich roll, and were you aware of Roll for Sandwich before now? Let me know in the comments.
