Prime Video has released the most in-depth trailer for its live-action Fallout series yet, and upon first inspection, it looks like it’s gotten everything just right, with the perfect mix of irreverence and violence we all know and love from the series of games.
The story follows young Lucy (played by Ella Purnell), a vault dweller who emerges from the vaults into an area that was once Los Angeles. It’s been 200 years since the nuclear apocalypse, and people living outside of the safe, luxury vaults have just, well… kind of gotten on with things. In their own ragtag way.
In other words, it’s chaos.
“Practically every person I’ve met up here has tried to kill me,” says Lucy, right before a Mr Handy attempts to harvest her organs. Oh dear!
I also really enjoy Walton Goggins‘ pitch perfect sales spiel for investing in a vault. But there’s a lot more to the character than first meets the eye, as he later becomes a character called The Ghoul who’s somehow still around 200 years later! What even.
There’s loads of other references and Easter eggs from the games in the trailer, so check it out below:
Also, it was revealed that Fallout will be released one day earlier than originally planned, and we’ll be able to watch it from 11th April – and the entire series will drop at once!
I can’t tell you how excited I am about this show – I haven’t been this excited for a show since probably the run up to House of the Dragon being released (but now I’m just scared about season two rather than excited).
Anyway, this is yet another strong offering released this week, and it appears trailers are having a very good week!
