Geek Native’s Patrons have just been emailed some perks and a voting link for May’s RPG Publisher Spotlight.
Throughout the month, site and podcast backers of any tier can vote for an indie creator, curator, or publisher to feature. The perks, such as free merch or gaming goodies, are ad hoc but, hopefully, welcomed.

Supporting indie creators for free
The RPG Publisher Spotlight is designed to help support indie creators. If you can’t vote, you can still get in touch with a nomination.
There’s also a host of other things fans of small RPG studios can do to help.
- Spread the Word:
- Share their work on social media: Tag them, retweet/share posts, and tell your friends and followers about their fabulous creations.
- Leave reviews: Write positive reviews on platforms like DMsGuild, DTRPG, itch.io, or wherever their work is available.
- Word-of-mouth: Tell people in your gaming circles, online communities, friends, and family about the indie creators you love.
- Engage and Interact:
- Follow their social media: Like, comment, and share their posts. This helps them build their audience and shows your support.
- Join their community: Participate in Discords, forums, or subreddits dedicated to their work.
- Provide feedback: Playtest games and offer constructive suggestions. Your input is valuable to creators!
- Show Appreciation:
- Send a thank-you message: A thoughtful email or DM to express your enjoyment of their work can go a long way.
- Fanart/Fanfiction: If you’re artistically inclined, contribute to the fandom creatively.
- Tip or Donate (if possible): Many creators have Patreon, Ko-fi, or similar platforms where small donations can make a big difference.
Remember: Even small actions can have a significant impact on independent creators. Your enthusiasm and support are invaluable!
