The Wandering Tavern is an adventure setting inspired by Studio Ghibli, either a campaign or a scenario. It comes with 5e stats, but you can use others.
The father-and-son team of Homie and the Dude have smashed their Kickstarter target, and you can see progress on the crowdfunding site
Homie and the Dude will run the campaign until May 10th (a fantastic date) and have over 600 backers already.
You download a free preview already (PDF link).
The anime-esq setting is a 180-page book with 15 giant battle maps, over 30 NPCs and the same number of plot hooks.
The Wandering Tavern in The Wandering Tavern is an airship and the setting comes with a bunch of those, plus magic items and trades.
In keeping with the Studio Ghibli-ish of the floating world, there are also downtime games, recipes, in-game celebrations and new spirit mechanics.
The Wandering Tavern’s dark mysteries and entangled truths are yours to unlock. While traversing this vast metropolis use remarkable magical items to protect yourself from the twisted Spirits stalking the halls. However, if you have to escape, you can glide through uncharted skies on never-before-seen Zephyrs, constructed from a plethora of brand-new Parts and Stations.
You can back the project for just £1, and, uncommonly, this also opens up a host of add-ons. In the case of The Wandering Tavern, the add-ons include content from B. Dave Walters, CZRPG and Shiny Press
Backers at the £25 tier unlock rewards worth £93 at retail, such as the full PDF of the setting, an STL file of the airship, digital battle maps, a quick start guide, 1-month subscription to the publisher’s HaTDBuilder as well as Shard and Tabyltop conversions.
All the digital content being produced and longer subscriptions are included at the £50 pledge.
The first physical rewards, therefore, don’t appear until the £80 tier. Backers who can go that high get the soft cover of The Wandering Tavern, plus those VTT conversions and some subscription time.
The Collaborator Tier is at £130, which, as the name implies, adds in that extra content from TTRPG celebs and successes that had previously been restricted to the add-ons.
The £150 level is worth £233 at retail and gets backers all the digital and physical content.
Homie and the Dude estimate a June 2024 delivery, which is very fast.
