We all know one of the big draws of M. Night Shyamalan‘s movies is the ‘twist’, so it came as a surprise when it was reported that the first trailer for the movie Trap seems to “give it away”.
The trailer was released by Warner Bros. today, and it’s a damn good trailer, but… y’know, I’m not convinced this is ‘the big twist’. Or if it is, it’s an interesting change in strategy. Hmmm.
In the movie, Josh Hartnett stars as a father taking his teenage daughter to attend a pop concert, “where they realise they’re at the centre of a dark and sinister event.”
I’ll let you watch it below, and you can decide whether or not it’s given too much away. Knowing M. Night Shyamalan, I’m sure there’s got to be a lot more to it.
Either way, I’m quite excited to watch this one, as it looks like a blast. Especially with all the darkness that sets in around the father character. I felt nervous and then like ‘ohhhhhh NOOOOOOO!’ and I love when I get that kind of reaction to a trailer.
Trap also stars Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills and Allison Pill.
And you can watch Trap when it’s released in cinemas on 9th August, 2024.
