A full trailer has just been released by Wētā Workshop for Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Rings Game – and it’s certainly a LOTR game that stands out from the others.
The game, set to be published by Private Division, is described as being a ‘cosy’ and ‘heartwarming’ Lord of the Rings game. You don’t have to fight dragons, or trudge to the ends of the Earth to rid your life of evil, oh no… you just need to find your second breakfast, do a spot of fishing and throw a social event.
I think the social event part sounds like the most stressful part of this game, actually, but maybe that’s just me.
The official synopsis reads:
Experience the storybook return of living life as a Hobbit in the idyllic town of Bywater. Unwind in the breathtaking pastures, visit the townsfolks’ local shops, or even enjoy second breakfast. Help bring the community together and achieve official village status by throwing the greatest Bywater Festival the Shire has ever seen.
To be honest, watching the trailer made me draw many parallels between this and Animal Crossing. But, y’know… with hobbits instead of animals!
Do you get that Animal Crossing vibe, too, or am I just imagining it?
