If you are curious and brave enough to Night City after the events in the Netflix anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and find out what happens next now you can.
CD PR has said there will be no season two. That said, fans know Edgerunners is a prequel to computer game Cyberpunk 2027.
The Cyberpunk game itself is a tabletop RPG from R. Talsorian Games in the first place, and today, the publisher has announced Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit. The supplement has been worked on in conjunction with CD Projekt Red.
R. Talsorian Games says the Mission Kit is neither a core rulebook nor a new version of the Cyberpunk TTRPG. However, R. Talsorian Games also say you can use the box set as a starter kit as the box contains a book with enough of the rules for you to play. You don’t need Cyberpunk RED.
In RTG’s words;
While it is designed as a standalone product, it was also designed to be the new starter kit for Cyberpunk RED simultaneously. It is also only a taste of what is to come for the setting of Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit contains;
- Hiroyuki Imaishi has drawn seven new pre-made Edgerunners, which allow you to join the TTRPG action quickly in anime style.
- Lore and Backgrounds for David Martinez, Lucy, Rebecca, and the rest of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Crew.
- A timeline from the Time of the Red (also known as the Red Decades) to the setting of the 2070s era.
- A map of Night City during the events of The Jacket. The Jacket is a full mission which takes place after that dramatic finale of the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime.
- Edgerunner-themed dice, maps, standees, instructions, and tools to play Cyberpunk RED in the 2070s.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit is at the printers, and virtual tabletop integrations are due later.
