Long Dog Games’ Pericle was funded in 30 minutes two years ago. However, Pericle and the first adventure, Gathering Darkness, have not ended up in the Kickstarter graveyard of abandoned projects.
Pericle: Labyrinth is about to double its $70,000 funding target, and there are still three weeks left. You can see progress on Kickstarter.
You do need the Loremaster app to play Labyrinth, as it’s an expansion and not a core set, but there are tiers here which offer that.
Each descent into the Labyrinth is a unique, randomly generated adventure guided by the Loremaster app. Expect approximately five encounters that will test various skills and abilities. Successful adventurers will earn experience points, loot, and recognition.
With their new fame, characters who escape the maze can return and try again with new trials and challenges.
There are no classes in the Pericle: Labyrinth and characters can mix and match as much as they can imagine.
Long Dog Games clearly says this game is about surviving the challenge rather than telling an elaborate story.
You can back the game by sharing it or pledging cash and if you back at $46 then you’ll get a copy of the Labyrinth expansion. There’s physical parts to this, so shipping costs, and this core tier has nothing fancy there, not even the core game.
Backers at $75 unlock the Loremaster software and the core Pericle rules, plus the Labyrinth goodies.
Backers who went big on Pericle: Gathering Darkness can go big on Labyrinth without overlaps with the $185 pledge for extra standees, dice, tokens, binders and folders. Alternatively, as several dozen have, go from zero to Pericle hero with a $200 pledge.
However, many higher tiers exist such as the $350 tier to catch up and multiple $1,000 worldbuilder tiers.
Long Dog Games can only ship to select countries, and an estimated delivery date is May 2025. The Kickstarter will close on May 29th.
