Dream City Knights blends the mundane with the fantastical, creating a rare in RPGs garagepunk genre. The game transports players to a world where American suburbia intersects with otherworldly elements, fostering a narrative that celebrates rebellion and embraces the extraordinary within everyday life.
Geek Native shared an early what do we know about Dream City Knights, now the campaign has had more than €7K pledged of the €12k target and has two weeks on Kickstarter.
Dream City Knights invites players to navigate the complex world of adolescence while exploring a fantastical dreamscape. The game centres on characters discovering their ability to enter the mysterious Dream City while they sleep.
However, Dream City is not without its perils. A menacing entity known as the Tower looms over the dream world, casting a shadow of mystery and intrigue. As players traverse this ever-changing landscape, they must confront the Tower’s enigmatic influence and strive to maintain equilibrium between their waking lives and their newfound responsibilities in the dream world.
Dream City Knights offers a unique blend of adolescent struggles and fantastical adventures. Players will face challenges that test their courage and resolve, ultimately determining whether they will succumb to the Tower’s power or rise as defiant knights, challenging the essence of the dreamscape.
Dream City Knights incorporates the Duality System where the players have to balance the power of their 3 Focuses – Anima, Ego and Heart – between the worlds of the Waking and the Dreaming.
Success of an Action is determined by the roll of a d8 compared with the Base of each of their Focuses, building up Momentum or Burden with each roll.
Backers pledging €1 get access to add-ons, and those at €16 pick up a PDF copy of Dream City Knights as a reward.
The hardcover edition is added to the rewards at the €38 supporters tier, although some early bird €34 slots are still available.
The impressive hardcover is the hardback, along with the PDF, in the €45 tier and there’s a limited edition with maps, a DM screen and badge at €65.
The all-in level, €90, includes maps of the city, of Sunrise Falls, the Keymaster’s Screen, the limited edition of Dream City Knights, standard and digital editions as well.
Edge of Mythos offer a retailer tier and estimate a hardcover delivery of May 2025 with the digital copies due in March. The campaign on Kickstarter runs until the 14th.
