The Pyschodungeon TTRPG is set in a world with smart technology and magic. Dungeons are made real, bursting with nightmares, when people reach their mental limit.
Characters are Plumbers, people who deal with Dungeons, and are part adventurers and part therapist. You can follow on Kickstarter.
Pyschodungeon uses tokens and modified the Belonging Outside Belonging framework for it’s system.
Suited for 3 to 7 players, without a master, the group as a whole shapes the world, sets the mood and conjures up both trouble and solutions.
Belonging Outside Belonging is a system found in games like Wanderhome and Dream Askey, with choices made in character generation helping to add details to the greater world. Tokens are spent on moves.
In addition to playing Plumbers, players in Pyschodungeon can also chip in as the Client (the person whose crisis created the Dungeon) and the Dungeon itself.
Backers can support the project with cash donations and spreading the word. At £10, along with project updates, backers get a PDF of Pyschodungeon as a thank-you reward.
The purpose of the Kickstarter is to fund a print book, which is added to the rewards at the £20 supporters tier. Shipping is calculated later. At £25, that’s a signed copy.
The £35 tier also gets a signed copy of the book and gets your name in the book. It’s not a name in the credits but something more intricate such as a location in the setting of Glyndain being named after you.
Community copies are available as add-ons and as a bonus in the £40 tier.
Designer Kayla Dice and Rat Wave Game House estimate August for the digital release and September 2024 for the physical. The crowdfunding project runs until June 20th,
