BuzzFeed Studios has entered the world of Dungeons & Dragons with their new live-play series, “Magic & Stuff.” The show features a diverse, all-queer female-identifying cast with varying levels of experience in the game.
Premiering on YouTube on May 31st, “Magic & Stuff” consists of eight half-hour episodes. It offers a fresh take on the genre, which often features longer, unedited content. Each episode includes animations and gameplay tips, aiming to make the series more accessible to newcomers.
The cast includes Meredith Kesh, Syzygy, Elisabeth Riley, Elizabeth Gottlieb, and Jasmine “ThatBronzeGirl” Bhullar as the Dungeon Master.
“Magic & Stuff” is produced for BuzzFeed Studios by Elisabeth Riley, Meredith Kesh, Derek Benig, and Jun Zee Myers.
Magic & Stuff launches with its own YouTube Channel, with the first episode out today.
Also today, BuzzFeed Studios Animation Lab announced two Spanish-language animated D&D shorts. The first is “Puerco y Babosa,” a groundbreaking animated series showcasing the Chicano experience in America. The show emphasizes sibling rivalry and boasts an all-Latine production team to ensure authenticity. The series is currently available on YouTube and TikTok.
In addition, the studio has released “El Mundo De Boggs,” a Spanish-language version of their popular “The Land of Boggs” shorts. This initiative aims to expand the studio’s properties into new territories and languages.
