GF9 is in the GameFound delivery stages for their The Aventures of Conan. Retailers, like Wayland Games who tend to gobble up anything the game maker produces, will likely stock the game later.
Today, at the UK Games Expo, GF9 confirmed The Adventures of Conan will have a solo mode.
In truth, this won’t surprise backers who have been monitoring the Comments on GameFound, as the ability to play The Adventures of Conan by yourself was perhaps the most requested feature. GF9 didn’t delay in starting the adaption.
However, the solo mode wasn’t offered when the crowdfunding campaign launched, so it might surprise people who decided to pass on it.
We even had a video demo of Conan’s solo system, but the UK Games Expo was the first time outside the project walls that the publisher talked about and confirmed the game would ship with it.
GF9 has the Dark Horse comics license for their Conan board game. Geek Native understands GF9 plans to support the game with future releases and assumes they’ll be dipping into Dark Horse lore and adventures.
The GameFound project made nearly $150,000 in pledges, funding in moments.
Battling across the Hyborian Age Conan and his Ally travel as companions, they’re always together but it is an uneasy alliance – with each character having their own objectives to meet, whilst the Foe moves independently planning their malevolent schemes, laying down Challenge Tokens and cycling Encounters, from afar waiting for the opportune moment to strike. However, should Conan and the Foe meet an epic battle ensues in which the victor receives great rewards, whilst the loser is wounded, losing dice for the remainder of the turn.
