With the fulfilment stage for Ex Stasis Games’ 5e Caverns of the Wise Minister completing, the small press publisher has copies at UK Games Expo.
The setting lies somewhere between life and death and in a place where lost souls have gathered. The strange civilisation exists under the gaze of an entity older than gods, a being that calls itself the Wise Minister
In the game, players take on the roles of individuals living in the city of Sepulchre. They are descendants of those taken from the surface and are trying to build a new life in the dark underworld. If they are smart, fast, and lucky enough to survive and find their place, they might uncover how they ended up there and be able to make things better.
Once upon a time, there stood an elven city called Silverhome, and an aboleth and a deity vied for power over it. The god Empyrea struck down the aboleth, and in revenge it drowned her favoured city. The survivors set out for the Underworld to beg for mercy from the god of death and reclaim the souls of their beloved dead.
They never reached death’s domain.
These Wretched Tales is also on sale from Ex Stasis Games at stand 1-118, available online later, which combines the publisher’s solo horror games Catch Me, Final Girl and This Wretched House.
